Frustrating isn't it?
You arrive in a city and want to be able to order a local dish,
use the metro or ask for directions, but a fear of mispronouncing
your 1970s phrase book means you often end up resorting to the
tried and tested pointing routine. Knowing how to greet a shop
assistant or order a menu del dia in Spanish can mean
not having to make a bee-line for the safety of shops and restaurants
proudly boasting 'English spoken here', (ie. 'you'll
pay above the odds').
Locals
are extremely receptive to any efforts made to speak Spanish -
a simple 'Hola' or 'Gracias' can make a world
of difference. You might even like to try some basic Catalan,
which is spoken alongside Castillian Spanish and more widely used
by the younger generation.
intoBarcelona.com's
unique, conversational Spanish classes are a far cry from conventional
language learning. Dispensing with classrooms and text books,
we offer a fun, informative and interactive way of getting to
grips with the world's second most spoken language. To get to
grips with the lingo and your way around, it's a great way to
start your stay .
Our
language tours are two, three or four hours long and are tailored
to your wishes. If your passion is food and wine, classes can
be held in cafés or tapas bars. If you want to learn how
to get around the city and see some sights, then you could take
classes whilst learning how to use the bus or metro.
